The triplets bought new hats.
The rich clay and sunny weather in Sifnos made it the capital of pottery in the Aegean, with unique jars and pots that are a trademark of the island. They include "foufoudes", ornamental chimney ceramics that are on most homes.
On the way back to Kamares we purchased a vase from a local potter, and later we bought some other pieces in the town.
Doug and Carolyn found a pool bar on the other side of the bay so we spent the afternoon there swimming and looking across to Kamares.
Then we had dinner on the same side of the bay at a restaurant that served traditional Sifnos food.
The availability of pottery on the island led to Sifnos developing a distinctive food style, usually cooked slowly in clay vessels. A deep pot is used for boiling chick peas and making a soup, and lamb and goat are baked in the mastelo, an uncovered pot.
We ate dinner and watched the sun set on Kamares.
