After going to the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market in the morning we headed home via Gordes, a spectacular hillside village which the Obama family were reportedly visiting today while on their Provence vacation.
We started the day with breakfast near the market. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a lovely town which sits on the Sorgue river.
The Sunday market is large and gets quite crowded as the day goes on.
Delwyn met up with her mother and Garth who are on a tour through this area. I didn't see them but I did spot the Obama and Clark sisters.
Then we went to Gordes, parked our cars near the lookout and got the usual views, and photographs.
Stopped by some lavender fields on the way home. They'll look spectacular in just a few weeks.
Went to Lacoste for a pre-dinner drink so we could look over to Bonnieux in the late, but bright, sun before having dinner in Bonnieux watching the sunset.
We drop Cherry and Karin at Marseille airport tomorrow morning and then we have two last nights in Cassis on the Mediterranean coast. Malcolm and Raylene start their journey home, and Lloyd and Delwyn move on to Croatia. We've been travelling with Malcolm and Raylene for over 3 weeks, Cherry for 3 weeks and Delwyn, Lloyd and Karin for the last week and it's all been great fun. We're a bit sad it's coming to an end.
