Later in the day we took the bus to the other main village, Ano Meria, and got spectacular long distance views of Chora as we neared home.
This morning we went for another wander and a shop in Chora where most of the tourists hang out. People were whitewashing the paths, steps and plant holders.
I wandered around taking photos of cats, houses, shops, locals and a couple of familiar tourists.
In the afternoon we took a bus trip to Ano Meria, the second largest settlement on Folegandros. It's on the north-western edge of the island and the village sprawls along a few kms of the main road so it doesn't have squares and little streets like Chora. There are a few restaurants and shops dotted along the way but most of the inhabitants are involved in traditional agriculture. That, and the simplicity of their lifestyles makes Ano Meria one of the most authentic villages in the Cyclades.
We saw more goats and donkeys than people as we walked a couple of kms back to another bus stop.
We ended the day with a pre-dinner walk up to, and past, the Church of Panagia to see the sunset.
From up there we could see the third largest village, the port town Karavostasi from where we leave on Saturday night.
